WWF Hong Kong, Mai Po Nature Reserve

Hong Kong

• Planted seagrass by hand across the Mai Po shallows, rebuilding nursery habitat for fish, crabs and the migratory birds that stop there each winter.
• Checked AI-labelled camera-trap footage for the reserve's biodiversity platform, separating true wildlife sightings from false detections.
• Helped compile a reference list of Hong Kong reef fish species used by the conservation team.

M. S. Swaminathan Research Foundation (MSSRF)

Wayanad, Kerala, India

• Lived and worked at the Community Agrobiodiversity Centre, studying how smallholder farms in Wayanad sustain food security.
• Walked farms with researchers and PhD candidates, recording how families keep rare rice and tuber varieties alive, including the kinship map behind Cheruvayal Raman's seed bank.
• Turned survey findings into plain-language infographics so results reached farming communities, not only journals.

• Studies how machine learning is reshaping statistical practice, from model selection to inference under uncertainty.
• Applies that theory to guided research problems under Prof. Lucy Xia's supervision, working through real datasets rather than textbook examples.

• Completed Gaming, Government and Gambling: Statistics in the Real World, applying probability to policy and risk.
• Lived on campus for the programme, working through problem sets with students from across the world.

TajSATS Air Catering Limited

New Delhi, India

• Followed an airline meal from raw ingredient to sealed tray, learning how a kitchen holds safety standards at industrial scale.
• Produced floor-level visual guides on hazards such as cross-contamination, written for staff working at speed.
